FRP water storage tanks are designed with a standard service life of 15 years under the Structural Design Calculation Method for FRP Water Tanks.
Exceeding 15 years does not mean that a tank immediately becomes unusable. However, long-term exposure to UV radiation, rain, and other weather conditions can gradually cause chalking, exposed glass fibers, and corrosion of metal components. Exposed glass fibers may also scatter into the surrounding area.
As deterioration progresses, it can lead to leaks, panel damage, and emergency repair work.
For this reason, it is important to consider protection and life-extension measures while the tank is still in service.
Sus Coating® is a special resin coating containing SUS316L stainless steel pigment, applied directly to the substrate without primer.
The coating adheres directly to the substrate and protects the water tank from external factors such as UV radiation, acid rain, and salt damage.
More than a cosmetic repaint, Sus Coating® is an innovative external protection and long-term life-extension method designed to protect existing water tanks and keep them in service longer.

RISK OF DELAY
Water tank replacement is often unavoidable.
However, postponing deterioration countermeasures or replacement
simply because the tank “still works” can lead to problems with water storage, leaks,
panel damage, and emergency work that might otherwise have been avoided.
Risk of Damage and Rupture
Due to Aging Deterioration
In recent years, increasingly severe weather conditions have made the environment around outdoor water tanks more demanding.
Long-term exposure to UV radiation, high temperatures, rain, and wind can cause deterioration of panels and joints to progress, potentially leading to leaks, damage, or even rupture.
In 2020, an FRP receiving tank at a commercial facility suddenly ruptured, releasing a large volume of water.
Delaying deterioration countermeasures or replacement because the tank “still works” can result not only in emergency repairs and water outages but, depending on the circumstances, may also lead to personal injury.
Early inspection and consideration of protection and life-extension measures are important before a major accident occurs.
Is your water storage safe and secure?
As FRP water storage tanks age, their light-blocking performance may deteriorate, allowing sunlight to enter the tank and creating conditions in which algae can grow more easily.
Sunlight is also one factor that can reduce residual chlorine, making it more difficult to maintain a hygienic water storage environment if light continues to enter the tank.
Even if the tank interior is cleaned once a year, algae and dirt may recur if sunlight continues to penetrate from outside.
Sus Coating® forms a coating with 0% total light transmittance, blocking light from entering the tank.
This helps suppress algae growth, supports the maintenance of residual chlorine, reduces the risk of bacterial growth, and contributes to water quality preservation.
CONCERNS
Do You Have Any of These Concerns About Your Water Tank?
Water tank replacement is expensive and difficult to budget for.
Issues have been identified during cleaning or inspections.
The tank has been in service for more than 15 years, and we want to take preventive action.
We are concerned that exposed glass fibers on the roof or other areas may scatter.
We are concerned about leaks or panel damage.
We want to extend the tank’s service life without shutting down the water supply or facility operations.
We are unsure whether replacement or repair is the right option.
We are concerned about issues being raised by local health authorities.

WHY CHOOSE US
The Reasons Why
is
Chosen
Light Blocking
With 0% total light transmittance, it prevents algae and bacteria growth inside the tank, preserving water quality.
Weather Resistance
A coating with stainless steel pigments protects the tank from salt damage, sunlight, acids, and more.
Rust Prevention
Forms a highly corrosion-resistant coating, preventing rust and corrosion on metal parts.
Adaptability
Can be applied directly to virtually any substrate material except silicone.
Adhesion
Can be applied without a primer coat on the substrate, preventing damage to the base material.
Cost-Effectiveness
Significantly reduces costs compared to tank replacement.
Environmental Benefits
Extends the lifespan of existing tanks, reducing industrial waste generation.
Short Construction Period
No water shutdown required; only external coating needed. Fast-drying properties minimize construction time.
Reliable test data guarantees quality
To ensure reliable use,
Sus Coating undergoes rigorous testing by third-party institutions, including weather resistance tests, adhesion tests, coating strength tests, and salt spray tests.
Test results demonstrate perfect performance, covering not only light-blocking properties but also coating strength.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
QIs repainting unnecessary after applying Sus Coating?
A
No renewal or repainting is required.
With 39 years of proven results, various tests confirm it does not degrade the base material.
QHow long does the water need to be shut off?
A
Sus Coating can be applied while the tank is in use, so there is no need to worry about water outages.
QCan it be applied to a water tank over 20 years old?
A
Yes. While applying it to a new tank preserves the base material as new,
it can also be applied to tanks over 20 years old if they are currently usable.
QHow much savings can we expect?
A
Replacing a 50-ton tank costs approximately ¥15 million, and replacement is typically needed again in about 20 years.
Sus Coating, on the other hand, is a unique tank life extension method costing around ¥6 million that eliminates the need for repainting.
QCan you estimate the total cost?
A
"Please contact us via the form below, and we will send you an estimate request form.
Once you complete the necessary details on the estimate request form, we will provide you with an estimate within about one week."
QIs it possible to become a distributor?
A
"We are recruiting authorized sales distributors for Sus Coating nationwide.
